Prototyping Ecosystem Intent with the PDT Community

Danielle and I recently prototyped the Ecosystem Intent Navigator with the Platform Design Toolkit community during their sensemaking event on the future of platforms and ecosystems.

In our session, we facilitated a group of approximately 30 entrepreneurs, xx, and xx through four key areas of ecosystem intent that heavily influence the success rate of platform ecosystems:

  • Purpose
  • Ecosystem Model (value flows)
  • Community Engagement
  • Platformization (of value chain)

Although time was really constrained (prototyping a 4 hour process in 90 minutes), we were able to get through the exercises with enough time for discussion and feedback.  We felt there was good engagement with participants and the session was an overall success!

More about the Boundaryless Sensemaking Event:

The video was recorded as part of the event The Future of Platforms and Ecosystem Thinking: A Sense-making session, organised by Boundaryless on 23 of July 2020. The event was a key milestone towards the 2020 Whitepaper: New Foundations of Platform-Ecosystem Thinking, and towards building a collective sensemaking process around topics related to the future of organising at scale.
